We're already a month further into this quarter and honestly? I love what I see. April closed with a strong revenue, proof that our approach is working. But even more important than that number is how we got there: by staying sharp on the basics, holding each other accountable and sticking to the routines we agreed on together.
The habits are starting to pay off. Happiness scores are being filled in, delivery percentages are being discussed, and the Habit Hero tree keeps filling up with shout-outs.
On top of that, our teambuilding day on May 8th was a great success again. A day that really shows what this team stands for: full throttle together, laughing together, fighting for the best result together.
We're welcoming new faces, expanding our network within Home Inspirations and seeing AI making real impact within Moving-In. Beautiful developments to be proud of.
Small habits, big results.
Ruben OraileOur first mission is clear: everyone fills in their happiness score every week. We go for 100%. Nothing less.
Great that we keep this sharp together: remember the Friday reminder and have it filled in by Monday 12:00.
Our target: below 10%. Over the past 6 weeks we swung between 9% and 23%. One week we hit the target, a nice moment to build on.
The fixed check moments in the warehouse help us stay sharp: fewer surprises afterwards, tighter planning up front. Keep pushing, team!
The six teams are battling for those sneakers. Junglebazen are firmly on top, but the gap is small. Everyone still has a chance!
The Habit Hero tree is full. Great to see how much appreciation is being shared. Three Heroes we want to give a little extra love this month:
For the top teamwork around the Ondernemerspoort. The warehouse looked spotless. Proud of how you pulled this off together!
Because she always shows up for the team. The kind of person you don't even have to ask, because she's already there.
For taking care of all those invisible tasks. Often not noticed, but absolutely essential.
Have you already hung someone in the tree this week?
everything you need to know!
In mid-July, Bas ter Hedde will be leaving Moving-In. After mutual conversations it was decided to end the collaboration, as vision and execution did not align well enough in practice.
We thank Bas for his dedication and wish him every success in the next step of his career.
As laid down in the employee handbook: the extra holiday days for employees who were not sick in Q1 have been awarded.
A great policy we get to apply again this year, as recognition for dedication, reliability and continuity within the team.
All performance reviews with the project team have been successfully completed. It's great to see how everyone reflects, shares ambitions and keeps looking ahead together.
Within the project team we're working on 3 process improvements. Génaro built a calculation model for the "individual requests" process that gives a price in 2 seconds. Beautiful development!
flexible & evolving, together
We've introduced the Time-for-Time (TVT) policy because we believe in a healthy balance between effort and recovery. When you work extra hours, it's important that you can get that time back in an appropriate way.
TVT makes that possible: turning overtime into time off, within clear and fair agreements. It's a policy we keep developing to stay fair, workable and future-proof for everyone.
TVT hours can be taken flexibly by the hour. Up to 4 hours TVT you can self-register, beyond that needs your manager's approval.
Your manager assesses requests based on planning and capacity. HR keeps track of balances and informs you in time about any expiration dates. Didn't make the 6-month window? Then the hours get paid out within the legal limitation period.
The TVT policy exists to give you flexibility and recognition. It's a policy we shape together. Questions? Reach out to your manager or HR. Together we keep things clear and workable.
safe & representative, together
In our warehouse and operational teams, one thing always comes first: working safely and professionally, every day. Workwear ensures recognisability, safety and a professional look, and it aligns with our ISO guidelines.
We watch out for each other on the floor, checking that workwear and shoes are worn correctly. The aim is awareness and safety, not control for its own sake.
You receive standard workwear via HR, Warehouse (Nico or Rick) or facilities. Everything is registered in Buddee.
Always report via HR at personeelszaken@moving-in.nl. In case of wear or damage: hand in the old item, then receive a replacement.
That's possible, but it's at your own expense and will be deducted from your salary. Requests always go through HR.
Employee: careful use and wearing · HR: administration and distribution · Manager: supervision and support on the floor.
Together we make the difference! Every single day.
Nathan isn't sitting still. Since AI Claude was introduced into our processes, we see colleagues working smarter with it: faster answers, better preparation and less repetitive work.
AI isn't a replacement, it's an accelerator. And it's starting to show.
The marketing team has a brand new camera. What does that mean? A new shoot coming up soon, and fresh visuals throughout the organisation.
Smile!
The new impact report is ready. A beautiful document showing what we as Moving-In have contributed in terms of circularity, social enterprise and social impact. Proud of what's in here.
A new version of "This is MI" is ready. Whether you're new or have been around for years, it's a great way to sharpen up on what we stand for and who we are.
19, 20 & 21 May · Brabanthallen
We're hitting the Renovation & Transformation Fair in Den Bosch with a brand new stand. Stand D041: a corner stand of 20 m², with a brand new house. Bar with screen at the front, cosy seating area at the back. Plus fresh coffee, a popcorn machine and MI sunglasses as hero giveaway.
Build-up & tear-down: Mon May 18 build-up (Rick, Evelien, Julia) · Thu 17:00 tear-down by everyone working that day.

What surprised you most since you started working at Moving-In?
What surprised me most since starting at Moving-In is how quickly you feel part of the team. From day one I was welcomed warmly and I noticed right away how involved and helpful everyone is. People work hard and give their all to deliver beautiful results together, but at the same time there's plenty of room for fun and an informal atmosphere. That combination is what makes you feel at home so quickly here.
What was your best moment so far?
Although I had just started, I got to join the teambuilding day in my very first week. I really enjoyed that, because it gave me the chance to get to know colleagues from different departments straight away. The vibe was open, fun and relaxed, which made me feel welcome immediately. That day gave me a lot of energy and made me feel part of the team even faster.
Who would you like to swap a day with?
I'd love to swap a day with the Styling team. Interior and styling are a personal passion of mine. I'm always restyling my home to make it cosier. I also had a side job at a furniture shop where I advised customers on furniture and decoration. It would be fascinating to see up close how styling is approached within Moving-In.
Know someone who would fit our team? These vacancies are currently open:
Jaco unplugged completely last week. No crazy activities, no busy schedules, just hanging out around the campsite with the kids and family, enjoying the facilities and letting things unfold at their own pace.
Sometimes that's exactly what a holiday needs. Welcome back Jaco!
from sofas to teaspoons
Last Tuesday we furnished the very last home for Bo-Ex. In total we delivered 29 homes for them. The client is very satisfied and we look back on a beautiful project with pride.
A great new request has come in from Era Contour: project Middenwetering. It involves a total of 31 homes (including units). Génaro and Natalia are joining forces to pick this up together.
The first part of The Hague is finished. Hats off to Taner and team for the tight work. On to the next part!
teambuilding May 8
On Thursday May 8, we headed off into the adventure together: our own Expeditie Robinson. The whole group was split into six teams taking on six challenging trials: from strategy to speed, from cooperation to pure willpower.
After a full day of grinding, laughing and cheering each other on, it all came down to the final trial. And then something happened that nobody saw coming: team yellow took the win, against all expectations. Unexpected, well earned and just lovely to watch.
We wrapped the day up with a great BBQ (the salmon was an extra hit) and a fun bus ride back. A long but truly fun and connecting day.

Moving-In invested in the acquisition of Home Inspirations. A deliberate choice based on trust in a brand with a strong name, a clear vision and a long history within the interior industry.
Home Inspirations has been around since 2005 and has grown into a trusted partner in interior design for expats, sales styling and second homes. The focus on atmosphere, personal attention and creating a homely feel aligns perfectly with Moving-In's values. That's why we chose to continue the brand within our organisation.
Since the acquisition, the brand is run as a label: Home Inspirations by Moving-In. The label is fully integrated into our structure and services, while preserving the distinct character and personal approach that make the brand recognisable. Two experienced team members joined us during the acquisition. From the ground up we rebuilt the label. With a renewed website, new communication tools and the first new partnerships, Home Inspirations is once again firmly established in the market, supported by Moving-In's experience and organisation.
By working with a separate label we keep our focus and clarity. Where Moving-In mainly handles larger and more complex housing projects, Home Inspirations by Moving-In focuses on expats, sales styling and second homes. So clients know exactly what to expect from us and who to turn to.
With these new connections, Home Inspirations strengthens its position within the expat world. We expect these partnerships to lead to a growing number of new assignments and further expansion of our network within the expat industry.
The integration of Home Inspirations within the organisation has been pushed forward another step. The new quote format is now finished, project leaders can create standard Home Inspirations quotes in a uniform and professional way going forward.
Two beautiful second home quotes have been issued. One of them is for a special project: a residence in sunny Moraira, Southern Spain. A great step toward further international growth of the label.
We're wrapping up another beautiful month. April showed what we can do when we stick to our habits: a new revenue record, strong placements, great AI developments and growth in Home Inspirations.
May is all about pushing on. We're halfway through Q2. Staying sharp, holding each other accountable on agreements, and keeping the fun in what we do. Because that last part, that's what it's really about.
Thank you for all the energy and commitment. On to a great month of May together.
